Book review: The Twisted Window by Lois Duncan (0440201845) E-book

This is an unusual and disturbing story about mental illness.  The attractive, new guy at school, Brad Johnson, has taken an interest in Tracy Lloyd, but what does he really want from her.  If it only could be so easy.  His story is heart-wrenching and frightening and her fate is in the hands of this confused young man.

A young adult novel with twists and turns that catch you off guard.  It will take you in and leave you gasping.

Thank you to Ms. Duncan, Open Road Media and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Book review: 15 Seconds by Andrew Gross (9780062196194)

This book is a thrill ride from beginning to end!  Dr. Henry Steadman is on his way to speak at a medical conference and then play some golf with his friend.  Little does he know that his life will change forever in 15 seconds.  After arriving at his destination, he is pulled over for a minor vehicle infraction, he is rudely asked to step out of the car at gun point and  frisked and handcuffed for no apparent reason.  After his registration is called in, he is let go, but before he can start his car, another vehicle stops and a shooter kills the cop that pulled him over and drives away.  Instead of staying with the officer and risk being arrested for murder, he decides to follow the shooter. And the story gets even more intense as it goes.

I loved this book!  I couldn’t put it down.  It’s a scenario that no one would ever want to be in and the choices Dr. Steadman makes may not be the best, but he is doing them for a very important reason.  Does he find the shooter?  Take the ride and see!

Thank you to Mr. Gross and Book Browse’s First Impressions for giving me the opportunity to review this book.
